Jesus took the death of John the Baptist hard. When he heard he left, he went off to a deserted place to be alone. But the crowds wouldn’t let him be alone. They left the cities and followed him.

Even in the midst of his deep and painful grief, Jesus saw the crowd and loved them. And when they were hungry, Jesus set the table for a party the likes of which they had never seen.
